Officer Rick Christopher
joined the Henderson
Police Department in
2002. In 2004, he became
a certified agitator/decoy
for the Henderson Police
Department’s K9 Unit.
Officer Christopher
worked several years on
the graveyard shift, and
in 2005, he became a
Field Training Officer. In
2007, Officer Christopher
was assigned to the
Criminal Investigations
Bureau, wherein he
investigated fraud and
property crimes. Officer
Christopher was then
assigned to the K9 Unit in
February of 2008, where
he was partnered with a
seasoned eight-year-old
Belgian Malinois named
Arco.
Arco, who was partnered
with his prior handler,
Officer Daniel King, until
Feb 2008, has been with
the department since
2002 and is now the unit’s
senior patrol dog. Arco
is responsible for the
apprehension of over
30 violent offenders,
who fled or hid from the
police. He has also
served as a SWAT dog
and been the focus of
much attention during
public demonstrations.
Arco is the loudest dog
in the unit, which means
that he never lets his
presence go unknown.
Officer Christopher and
Arco completed their
320-hour training and
certification course on
July 18th, 2008, and are
now certified to do what
Arco does best….
